Rajasthan Royals (RR) wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel praised the teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi After his heroics in the eliminator encounter between RR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Mullanpur on May 27.
It was the innings of a lifetime from the left-handed batsman as he scored 97 runs in just 29 balls to single-handedly defeat the Pat Cummins-led side in the knockout encounter. He broke many IPL records during his brilliant innings.
Vaibhav's RR teammate Dhruv Jurel, after the match, gave some insight into the left-hander's pre-match routine and how he approaches his game, and what makes him different from others.
“The best thing about Vaibhav that I have seen is that he doesn't plan anything. Because he practices a lot and he always supports himself. That's what he does whenever he goes out and plays. The best thing about him is that he supports himself. He doesn't have the slightest doubt that 'I am not able to do this,'” Jurel said in the post-match press conference.
This year, the 15-year-old has taken the IPL by storm by scoring 680 runs at a strike rate of 242.85. What makes this feat even more special is that he has troubled some of the best bowlers in the world with ease, including the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Starc.

“When we go to an academy, (we are told) 'Don't look at the bowler, look at the ball. As 17-year-old kids, we always look at the bowler, (and think) he is a big name. But in reality, he just looks at the ball. That's all. Their mantra is 'I don't want to care about any bowler',” concluded Jurel.
