Controversy over Jason Holder's brilliant catch, Virat Kohli and RCB team unhappy

The right-handed batsman pulled a short ball to deep fine leg where Holder was positioned. The West Indies star took a brilliant diving catch to send Patidar back to the pavilion. While doing so, his hands slipped and the ball touched the ground. This raised the question whether the tall all-rounder was in control of the ball when it touched the ground or not.

The umpires deemed the catch fair, which did not go down well with the RCB camp. Virat KohliThose who had already been out were seen arguing with the fourth umpire, with Patidar also waiting for the official decision before leaving the field. Even after regaining control of his movement, Holder held on to the hand holding the ball and stood up to celebrate with the rest of his teammates.

In the end, when RCB's score was 79 runs for the loss of three wickets, Patidar was declared out. After this they had a slight collapse and their score became 126 runs for 8 wickets.

Sending Patidar back without troubling the scoring much was a huge wicket for Gujarat Titans. The RCB skipper has been in great form this season, scoring 257 runs at a strike-rate of 200.78.
