Zimbabwe 158 for 2 (Raza 72*, Bennett 70, Shakib 1-9) Beat Bangladesh 6 for 157 (Mahmudullah 54, Shantio 36, Bennett 2-20) by eight wickets
Bennett bossed both Powerplay. After taking two wickets in Powerplay in Bangladesh, he hit a Breezi 70 in Chess after finishing 2-20. Raza finished the game with her first half century on the tour after four lower scores.
Bennett attacked quickly
Bennett and Ashirwad Mujarabani stopped Bangladesh during the powerplay. Mujarabani took Tanjid Hussain to the top of a slogan in the second over, before Bennett removed Soumya Sarkar and Tohid Hridoy in consecutive overs. Sean Wilms took a simple catch at this point from a gentle dub. Hridoy was caught behind, unable to judge the bounce of the ball correctly because he went to the square cut. Bennett and Mujarabani also bowled to a young woman, as the domestic side slipped to 15 for 3 in the fifth over.
Mahmudullah reconstruction
Mahmudullah faced Zimbabwe’s dominance in the first four balls with three fours. He started with a sweep, killing the bennet for a cover drive and finishing with a slices through the point. He added 69 runs with Najmul Hussain Shunto for the fourth wicket. Luke Jongve dropped Santo at 25 in Short Third Man, when a hichered against Wellington Masakadza.
Shanto slammed Masakada for his first six, but his attempt to repeat a one on the next ball went straight to Ryan Berl in deep midwicket. Mahmudullah launched Bennett on a long-on for his only six, as he added 39 runs with Shakib Al Hasan for the fifth wicket.
The brilliant running catch of John and John Campbell from Depp Midwick cuts out 17-gents 21, before Mujarabani caught Mahmudullah in a cover for 54.
Cracks on benate
After impressing with the ball, Bennett sent Zimbabwe to a flyer with the bat. He hit Mahdi Hassan for two fours in the first over. He then smiled Maheedi for two sixes and one four in his next over, two in the fourth over and Saifuddin for two sixes, two sixes and one for four.
Shakib placed Marumani in fifth place, before Raza slammed Saifuddin on the midwicket for his first six. Before reaching his fifty in the 12th over, Bennett crossed his previous best in T20I with Six of Rishad Hussain.
Before taking Saifuddin out for 70 runs off 49 balls, he hit two more sixes to take his tally to five sixes. He also hit five fours.
Raza nails chase down
Raza, who supported Bennett at the second wicket stand of 74 runs, continued with a big hit after the opener’s departure. He killed Saifuddin for two fours in the 16th over. It left Zimbabwe with the need of 32 from the last four overs. He reached his fifty off 41 balls, reaching the mark with four with a bridge.
Raza then deposited Saifuddin for a huge six on the midwicket, followed by more than six, and with one four. He scored 72 runs out of 46 balls with four sixes and six fours. Campbell was unbeaten on eight runs, scoring victorious runs in the 19th over.
