Angkrish Raghuvanshi became the first batsman to be out for obstructing the field in IPL, controversy increased

Angkrish Raghuvanshi He was given out by the third umpire for obstructing the field in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)'s match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday, April 26.

This incident happened on the last ball of the fifth over. Raghuvanshi clipped the ball from Prince Yadav towards Mohammed Shami at mid-on. The youngster took a few steps towards the non-striker's end in search of a quick single. However, Cameron Green sent them back. Raghuvanshi looked towards the fielder, who picked up the ball cleanly and threw it towards the stumps.

The ball hit Raghuvanshi, who made a strong dive at the batting end. Rishabh Pant appealed and some of the LSG fielders did the same. However, none of them were very vocal and it looked as if the umpire would ask them to move on. Moments later, on-field umpires Keyur Kelkar and Abhijeet Bengeri asked the third umpire, Rohan Pandit, to check.

Pandit understood that Raghuvanshi had seen where the ball was coming from and changed the angle of his run. He dismissed the batsman. Immediately after the incident, Raghuvanshi was seen expressing his displeasure with the umpires. The commentators also disagreed with the third umpire, mentioning that the batsman had to change his angle because it is impossible to turn 180 degrees while running. After this out, KKR head coach Abhishek Nair was seen talking to the fourth umpire.

Raghuvanshi became the first batsman in IPL history to be out for obstructing the field. This was a huge moment in the match as KKR had already lost two of their openers before that dismissal.
