The Indian leg spinner will be available for County County Championship and one -day cup campaigns. The deal is reminiscent of the person who brought the 34 -year -old old on the Wantage Road in the last summer.
Although Chahal has not painted for India since 2023 – he was an unused member of the successful 2024 T20 World Cup squad – he remains a wrist spinner after a demand. In November, he became the most expensive spin bowler in the IPL auction when he was signed by Punjab Kings for INR 18 crore (£ 1.6 million) before the 2025 season, which ends on 25 May.
“I enjoyed my time in the last season, so I am very happy to come back.” Chahal said. “There are some great people in that dressing room, and I can't wait to be a part of it again.
“We played some great cricket towards the back end of the season, so hopefully we are able to repeat it and some are raising winning.”
Darren Lehman, a recently appointed head coach of Northamptonshire, appreciated Chahal's re -signature: “I am really excited that one of the world's best leg spinners is returning to Northamptonshire this season.”
“He brings invaluable experience and is a full gentle person who loves the game. He will not be fantastic for us until the end of the season from mid -June.”
