Speaking during the announcement of Nippon Paint as the team's new official partner in Mohali on Thursday, March 19, the players discussed the team's dynamics, mentality and preparations ahead of the upcoming season.
The official launch event was attended by the two star cricketers along with key dignitaries including Punjab Kings CEO Satish Menon, Punjab Kings Chief Commercial Officer Saurabh Arora, Nippon Paint (India) Group Managing Director Sharad Malhotra and Nippon Paint India Decorative Coatings Business President Mark Titus.
Talking about the preparations, batsman Shashank Singh lauded the team for holding regular camps, saying, “Technically this is our fifth or sixth camp. The franchise is making sure that we have regular camps. The camp in Abu Dhabi was the best among all. The preparations are really good, and we are ready to entertain you guys.”

He said, “When you do three to four camps, you form a bond. You eat together, play together and within those two months, you become a family. Our motivation is that we don't leave anyone alone, which helps us perform better on and off the field.”
This strong camaraderie has been further strengthened by the franchise's decision to retain most of its squad from the IPL 2025 season, instilling a deep sense of security in the team.
Adding his thoughts on this, Shashank said, “The trust that was shown in the players last year was very important. You will see this time that the 23 players are the same as last year. The skill level of every team in the IPL is almost the same. But what makes the difference is the trust and belief, and I think that is growing with time here.”
Both players displayed a fearless attitude when asked about handling difficult moments in matches. “I like pressure,” Chahal said. “Everyone performs in easy conditions, but when you perform under pressure, your confidence increases. My job is to take wickets in the middle and death overs and I am ready for that.”
