The initial pair of Royals of Jaywal and captain Sanju Samson scored 61 runs in just 5.3 overs. Samson saw in good touch, scored 31 off just 19 balls with two limits and three sixes. However, RR Captain's knock came to a shocking stop due to injury.
After hitting a range, Samson appeared to be pulling something on his behalf and was in pain. Unable to continue, he indicated the physio and retired and left. Outside the middle of Samson, Ryan Parag joined Jaiswal as RR reached 63/0 at the end of the sixth over, maintained a run rate of 10.50.
