Indian Premier League (IPL) has got a new star in the form of Prafulla Hinge. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) The bowler who took three wickets in the very first over of the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), that too in his debut match.
Born on 18 January 2002 in Nagpur in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, Hinge was bought by SRH in the mini auction for his base price of Rs 30 lakh. The right-arm fast bowler was named as part of the Impact sub bench for the first time for their game against Punjab Kings, but did not make an official appearance.
Hinge Coming from a very simple background in his home town Nagpur. During his early cricket years, he struggled with control and even his bowling action was illegal. He joined the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), where he caught everyone's attention due to his pace and ability to hit the deck hard.
The fast bowler made his domestic debut for Vidarbha in the 2024 Ranji Trophy against Puducherry. He played four matches in his debut campaign, taking 11 wickets. In its first season, Vidarbha won the first-class tournament, defeating Kerala in the final on the basis of first innings lead.
Despite being just 24 years old, Hinz has achieved success at the domestic level. Apart from the Ranji Trophy, the right-arm pacer was also a part of Vidarbha's 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning team, where he took five wickets.
It is noteworthy that before making his IPL debut with SRH, Hinz had only one T20 match to his name, which came against Andhra Pradesh in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He took 1 for 23, where his only wicket was that of Andhra captain Ricky Bhui.
in April 2026, where he instantly became a household name after taking the wickets of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Luan-Dre Pretorius in the first over of the game. By doing so, he became the first bowler in IPL history to take three wickets in the opening over of an innings.
