CSK continued to struggle to post competitive scores in the first innings. Most of his yoga was equal, making it easy for the opposition to pursue him. His only exception was his last match of the campaign, where he posted a high score of 230 against Gujarat Titans (GT). In addition, his batting unit failed to assure the first time the yogas as he played an old brand of cricket. However, CSK greatly improved that aspect in addition to some young talent like Ayush Monthre and Developed Brevis.
