We will try and win IPL 2025 for Virat Kohli: Rajat Patidar

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBK) have a date with history as they offer the square off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final on Tuesday, June 3. Both teams have never won the IPL title, but after the much awaited struggle, one of them would have broken zinc.

Next to the summit tie, RCB captain Rajat Patidar accepted the contribution of the legendary Virat Kohli and said he would watch with his teammates to win the IPL title for the former captain of India.

“I think he has also given many years to RCB and international side. We will try to perform our best in the game,” Patidar on Monday told the media during his pre-match press conference with PBKS Shreyas Iyer.

Patidar was also asked whether it is disappointing to see whether the spotlight before the final is on a individual player, even one of the most prominent teams this season after RCB. The Madhya Pradesh batsman answered the difficult question.

“I think it's not disappointing for me. We are not on this platform that we are in the finals. We will try to play our best cricket. We are not playing here for the stage. I always like to keep things simple,” he said.

RCB made history in IPL 2025 as he won all his seven distance games. Kohli has been on the factor performance as RCB fans have roamed every stadium to show their love for Stallvart and their comrades.

“Wherever we go, we think the crowd is a home ground for us and (given) the way they (given) have been showing support and love for the years,” he said.

The RCB, however, will be concerned with the availability of in-form Tim David, who has not shown in his last two matches so far due to a hamstring injury, which he continued fielding in a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“So far, I have no information about Tim David. The doctors are there and we will know this evening,” Patidar mentioned.
