[WATCH] 'Let's show you how professional he is' – RR takes subtle dig at Jitesh Sharma for his 'Vaibhav Suryavanshi is not professional' comment

Jitesh Sharma made headlines ahead of the start of the 2026 season when he commented that 15-year-old talented Vaibhav Suryavanshi is “not professional”. Jitesh's comment took the cricket world by storm and he faced heavy criticism for his words on the budding player.

With this being a major talking point, Rajasthan Royals, Suryavanshi's IPL team, posted a video indirectly defending their young star, while also taking a subtle dig at Jitesh. The video, recorded on the Royals flight, shows RR's content host explaining how the young player has been extremely professional, demonstrating his behavior and adherence to air travel rules.

“People say Vaibhav is not professional; let me show you how professional Vaibhav is. Look at this, the seat belt sign is off, yet Vaibhav is wearing his seat belt. Vaibhav is very professional. Vaibhav, please show me your phone. Look at this, Vaibhav's phone is also on airplane mode. Vaibhav follows all the rules. He is so professional. Proud of you brother,” said the host in the video.

“He is not a professional, I can tell you that. Everyone is trying to make him a professional, but I don't think he will ever be a professional,” Jitesh had told AB de Villiers in a podcast. “He'll be professional on the field, but off the field, he won't be. I'm trying my best, telling him not to eat ice cream at night.”

Meanwhile, after scoring 252 runs at a tremendous strike rate of 205.56 in his debut season in 2025, Suryavanshi started the 2026 season with a half-century off 15 balls, which was the third fastest in the league, against Chennai Super Kings. He followed that up with 31 off 18 balls against Gujarat Titans, a more measured innings by his standards.

He scored the fastest century by an Indian batsman in the IPL in 2025 when he scored a century in 35 balls against the Titans, and is expected to keep breaking records as his career progresses.

Talking about their team, Rajasthan Royals, who have won their opening two matches, will take on Rajasthan Royals on April 7 at the Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati.
