Wanindu Hasaranga out of IPL 2026; LSG will announce replacement soon


Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga is set to be ruled out of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) A replacement is expected to be announced in the next day or two.

LSG's global cricket director, Tom Moody, confirmed that Hasaranga will no longer be able to play in the 2026 IPL season, with the team set to announce a replacement at the appropriate time.

“We are preparing for the fact that he will not be able to join us. We are looking at replacements, which should be announced in 24-48 hours,” Tom Moody said during the KKR vs LSG match.

Hasranga He was bought by LSG in the mini auction for his base price of Rs 2 crore. The Lucknow-based franchise will now need to find an adequate replacement for the all-rounder.


George Linde is expected to be named as Hasaranga's replacement

According to ESPNcricinfo, South Africa's George Linde can replace Hasaranga in LSG. The 34-year-old has not featured in the IPL before but is an experienced cricketer at the franchise level, having regularly played in SA20 and The Hundred.
