Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga is set to be ruled out of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) A replacement is expected to be announced in the next day or two.
Hasaranga has not played professional cricket since Sri Lanka's opening match against Ireland in the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he took three wickets. LSG's global cricket director, Tom Moody, confirmed that Hasaranga will no longer be able to play in the 2026 IPL season, with the team set to announce a replacement at the appropriate time.
“We are preparing for the fact that he will not be able to join us. We are looking at replacements, which should be announced in 24-48 hours,” Tom Moody said during the KKR vs LSG match.

George Linde is expected to be named as Hasaranga's replacement
