'Virat Kohli is officially sixes for the next two sessions'

Indian cricketers are not allowed to play in the foreign league

Meanwhile, it is impossible for any other Indian player joining Kohli or BBL under the current rules. The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has strict rules preventing Indian male cricketers from playing in the foreign franchise league. This ban is to maintain the uniqueness of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and ensure player workload management.

While Indian women cricketers are allowed to participate in a foreign league like Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), this rule is strict for male players. Only retired Indian cricketers are allowed to play in the foreign league.

However, 35 -year -old is currently playing in IPL 2025 Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Star Batter has already scored an unbeaten 59 in the RCB season opener against Kolkata Knight Riders and has scored 31 runs in his victory over Chennai Super Kings. He will be in action next time when RCB will face Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru on 2 April.

Kohli, who was the highest run scorer of the previous season, on average with 741 runs in 15 innings 61.75, expecting another similar weather. With the discovery of its first IPL title by RCB, the side would depend on the performance in Delhi.
