Maharashtra 275 for 6 wickets (Kulkarni 107, Bawne 60, Arshdeep 3-56) defeated Punjab 205 (Arshdeep 49, Mukesh 3-44) by 70 runs
Maharashtra’s score was reduced to 8 for 2 in the third over by Arshdeep Singh, who took three wickets to take him to the top of the wickets chart among openers. In the first over of the match, Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was bowled by an away-swinger, which pitched onto the leg stump and clipped the outside edge to top off. In the third, Arshdeep dismissed left-handed batsman Siddhesh Veer.
Kulkarni and experienced batsman Ankit Bawne added 145 runs for the third wicket. Bawne scored 60 before becoming the victim of spin-bowling all-rounder Naman Dheer. After this, Rahul Tripathi was out after scoring 15 runs and Maharashtra faltered.
It wasn’t until the last five overs that they gained some momentum, with wicket-keeper batsman Nikhil Naik scoring an unbeaten 52 off 29 balls. Maharashtra scored 63 runs in the last six overs and finished on 275.
When Punjab’s middle order, which included the dangerous Ramandeep Singh and Naman Dheer, failed to perform well, Maharashtra emerged winners. At 123 for 7, Arshdeep hit some big hits to reduce Punjab’s margin of defeat. He made his highest List A score of 49 before being dismissed as the last batsman as they were all out for 205.
