Top KSCA officials resigned after a tragic stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium


After the ceremony in Bengaluru Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)Vijay ended with a disaster in IPL 2025, as a stampede occurred due to parade and felicitation resulting in at least 11 innocent people lost their lives, and suffered many more serious injuries. As a result of the incidents, now the Secretary and Treasurer of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has resigned from their duties.

Both of them resigned from the post through a joint statement by a Shankar, Secretary and Treasurer S. Jeram, made through a letter. Ksca President Raghuram Bhat. According to the statement, both Shankar and Jeram claimed that although the role of the organization was limited, they have chosen to resign from their posts for whatever happened in the last few days.

Details of the ongoing case

Karnataka High Court took Suo Motu Cognition of the incident on Thursday after receiving initial briefing from Advocate General Sasikiran Shetty. A single judge bench of Justice Shri Krishna Kumar provided interim security to senior KSCA officials for cooperation with police investigation.

On Friday, 6 June, four people were arrested by Bengaluru, including RCB marketing head Nikhil Sosle, while he was trying to catch a flight from Kemp Gowda International Airport in Bangalore. Apart from Sosh, the other three people who were arrested were representatives of DNA Entertainment Private Limited, also the organizers of RCB's victory ceremony. The accused were Sunil Mathew, Sumanth and Kiran Kumar. More information in this case is currently waiting, as the next hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
