With just about a week left for the start of the 19th season of the IPL, several foreign players have pulled out of the tournament due to injuries or workload management. Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “At this moment, it seems that the one team that will be most troubled is Sunrisers Hyderabad. We got to know about the captain. Apart from him, the expectation was that Jack Edwards is part of the team, and he can be used, but you won't be able to use him either. He is not there. He is also gone.”
“So Jack Edwards is gone and Pat Cummins is not available at the moment. Brydon Carse is there, but we don't know about Ishan Malinga. So three of their overseas players are not available at the moment, and that is a big problem. So, Sunrisers Hyderabad are at the biggest disadvantage at the moment.”
As things stand, England all-rounder Brydon Carse is the only overseas fast bowler to be fit in the SRH camp before the start of the tournament. However, the Durham player has not played any T20 since October last year and was not selected in England's squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
However, the 2016 champions may not need more than Carse in their playing eleven, as they have a formidable overseas batting unit comprising Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head and newly-signed Liam Livingstone. If they play all three of their batsmen, Carse will be the only overseas bowler in the lineup.
