Star India cricketer KL Rahul played for Delhi Capitals for the first time in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. There, he shared the dressing room with former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen, who was with the team as a consultant. There was laughter and joking between the two the whole time and this friendship looked very good on television.
Revealing the spat between the two, Rahul recalled an incident where he told Pietersen's wife that her husband behaves rudely, it was all apparently a light-hearted moment. In fact, the Karnataka batsman even got a scolding from his wife Athiya Shetty after she watched the video during his meeting with the DC mentor.
“Our banter is different. He's a great sport. He gives it to you too. There was this video, and there were two-three times when I said something and DC Posted it on Instagram page. So, my wife was saying to me, 'Why are you being so mean? “He is a very sweet guy,” KL Rahul said during a conversation on 2 Sloggers YouTube channel.
“I said, 'Half of the things he does to me and tells me don't come out on the Internet.' This is three times what I have given after 100 times when he has been after my life. When we were in UK I complained to his wife. He invited me over for dinner and I said, 'Tell your husband to be gentle with me. Rahul said, “He is very rude towards me.”
Talking about Rahul's IPL 2025 with Delhi Capitals, this was the fifth franchise for which the wicketkeeper-batsman was playing. Entering the season slightly late, Rahul was the most successful batsman for the Delhi-based franchise, scoring 539 runs in 13 matches at an average of 53.90, along with a couple of centuries and several half-centuries. Despite their efforts, DC failed to qualify for the playoffs.
