Former Chennai Super Kings cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath believes CSK should move forward Ravi Bishnoi In the upcoming auction for IPL 2026. Bishnoi was released by Lucknow Supergiants after spending four seasons with them.
Badrinath commented on the explosiveness that Bishnoi could potentially bring to the lineup with Noor Ahmed, especially during home matches in Chepauk. The cricketer turned commentator also predicted that Bishnoi would be someone for whom many teams would be willing to pay big money.
“He will be a great option, one CSK will definitely target. They are without two specialist spinners, Jadeja and Ashwin. They definitely need a spinner, and Ravi Bishnoi will be a four-over bowler. The wrist spinners have been successful in Chepauk. Noor Ahmed and Ravi Bishnoi will make a super combination. He will probably go for a high price, but if CSK buys him,” Badrinath said in a video on his YouTube channel. So they will benefit.”
The 45-year-old also listed the fast bowlers the five-time champions should target in the auction. He believed that getting Mathisha Pathirana back would be a good deal for CSK.
He said, “CSK definitely needs a death bowler. Anrich Nortje is a brilliant fast bowler who can bowl with the new ball and in the late overs. Gerald Coetzee would be a good option, who has also played for Joburg Super Kings earlier. CSK had also bid strongly for him in the last auction. Buying back Mathisha Pathirana at a low price would not be a bad option. But a death bowler is necessary for CSK. For which they can go for one of these three options.”
Chennai Super Kings There is Rs 43.4 crore left in the bank with nine available slots to participate in the auction. As far as overseas options are concerned, the men in yellow are left with four options. They will aim to maximize their auction haul in terms of buying some quality players to complete the squad.
The auction is scheduled to take place on December 16 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. CSK will be eyeing to fix their team. They are coming in after finishing 10th in the last installment of the Marquee League.
