Defending Champion, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lost eight wickets against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. IPL 2025 Monday, 31 March. Ramandip Singh's Quickfire scored 26 runs with 22 runs with 12 balls and scored 26 runs off 16 balls and Andre Russell's twin strikes were important highlights for KKR as host MI chased a target of 117.
Not far from the loss, KKR all -rounder Ramandeep Singh shared his honest evaluation at the post -match press conference. He said, “Any team can collapse regardless of the situation. Obviously, it gives an opportunity to the lower order, but we were inauspicious tonight. We will try our best to make sure that we do not find ourselves in a similar position moving forward in the tournament.”
He highlighted some light on supporting the team's aggressive approach with the bat, while emphasizing that he could learn from this performance.
“We return each player of the team to follow their natural tendency. Sometimes, it does never work, but it is important for us to return our players, so they can give their hundred percent and play for their attacker instinct.
“We understand that participation is very important, but the approach paid for Angkrish and Rinku was paid, we will give them credit for their performance. Sometimes it is not your day. Every game is always learned from every game”, Ramandeep said.
While reflecting the situations at the Wankhede Stadium, Rampandeep said that the toss played an important factor in the result.
“It was a good toss to win for MI. He had an advantage because even in the second innings, the new ball was seaming, and the spinners were getting some turns. Therefore, there was something for the bowlers. However, we could not use as an excuse. He was still ready to hit the six.”
Kolkata Knight Riders On April 3, Sunrisers will be eager to bounce back to Hyderabad at Eden Gardens.
