Sign Lessestershire Shaan Masood on All-Format Deal

Lessesterreshire has signed the Pakistan Test Captain Shaan masood 2025 on an all-format deal for summer.

The 35 -year -old, who won a Test series against England last year, will bring experience and batting pedigree on Grace Road. He is due to the introduction of his term after the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League in May, and should start his Lessesterreshair on 31 May against his former County, Derbyshire.

The move confirms the end of Masood's association with Yorkshire after the culmination of a two -year deal, which saw him the captain since 2023. The left -handed opener ran 1,240 county championships on an average of 53.91 in 15 matches, which helps Yorkshire to earn back in Division One in 2024.

He originally moved to Headingley after an impressive summer of 2022 with Derbyshire, in which he scored 1,078 first -class runs at 82.61. During this tenure, in April, Masad scored 219 against Leistershire in an innings victory, a week ago after 239 vs. Sussex became the first Derbyshire batter to score a back-to-back double centuries.

Masood has been capted 90 times by Pakistan in all formats, including 42 Test cap, and the club captain Peter Handskomb and the Netherlands have joined the all -rounder Logan Van Beak as foreign options for the upcoming campaign. He is expected to be available throughout the season, in which there is no Test match in English summer. This can change if the PCB decides to remember him for his limited overs set-up for the Caribbean tour starting on 31 July, although Masood's last international white ball appearance came in May 2023.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Masood said, “I am actually excited to give all three formats a chance to play all three formats. I have always praised the club and have a lot of conversation with the team during the last three sessions.”

“I like to play at the Uptonsteel County Ground. The fans are in a strong number of teams and the sports I have always been a great spectacle. Club has been very competitive in all formats and has produced some magnificent young players in the last few years.

Cricket director, Cloud Henderson said: “We are happy to welcome a person of Shan's caliber for Lessestershire. He is a proven talent in international and county cricket, and someone who can win the match in all three formats.

“Shaan fulfilled a magnificent line-up of foreign additions for our squad. His leadership and experience will be invaluable for the team both on and out on the pitch.”
