Sunil Gavaskar feels that Shubman Gill After a difficult start in 2024, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has improved as a captain. Prior to last season, Gujarat Titans (GT) appointed Punjab batsman as captain. While Shubman performed well as a batsman, he could not take his soldiers in the playoffs. In fact, GT ended at number 8 on the points table with five wins and seven necklaces.
However, Shubman has managed to capitalize on herself in IPL 2025, guiding GT in third place at the end of the league phase with nine wins and five defeats. Under his leadership, former champions will face a five -time winner Mumbai Indians in Eliminator on Friday, 30 May.
Gavaskar explained how Shubman has cleverly played another Bella when Sai reforms are going after bowlers in IPL 2025.
“What he has learned from last year. Remember last year, he was a captain and he did not do very well. So, I definitely think what he has learned from last year, we can see here the way he is leading the team with Sai Sudarshan. Sai Sudarshan is going well, he is quite happy to knock and strike a single.”
He controls his feelings, which is very important: Gavaskar
Gavaskar told how Shubman remains calm on the field and does not get angry with his fielders when he drops a catch. The former India captain said that the 25 -year -old encouraged him to do better next time.
“And then even in the field, when you see a catch dropping, there is a missfield, he is not angry. He controls his feelings, which is so important because in this way in a high pressure game, you don't want to panic even more. Gavaskar said.
Shubman was recently appointed as the captain of India's Test team. He will start his rule soon after the IPL final as India will travel to England to play a five -match series against Ben Stokes & Co..
