Rajasthan Royals (RR) full-time captain and wicket-keeper Sanju Samson The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has traveled to the Center of Excellence (COE) of BCCI to seek full approval for wicket-keeping in the 2025 season. Wicketkeeper-Better flew from Guwahati to Bangalore from Bangalore today after RR's victory at Chennai Super Kings (CSK), to undergo tests from COE managers and undergo safe approval.
RR Skipar first underwent surgery on its right index finger and only partial permission was given to play in the IPL 2025 season. While he is participating as an expert batsman, now he aims to get withdrawal from sports science wing to resume full duties including wicket-keeping.
A source quoted by Cricbuz said, “He will look for clearance to do so for the remaining sports and is expected to return as a skipper from RR's next match, which is about a week away.”

In Samson's absence, Ryan is leading the Parag team, while Dhruv Jurlel has captured the wicket-keeping responsibilities. Kerala cricketer, playing completely as a batsman, registered a half -century (66) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) due to losing on Sunday, 23 March. In the team's second match against KKR, Samson scored only 13 runs. In the latest match against CSK, although she started well, she could not go beyond the 20 -run mark.
Following an unstable start for his campaign with two consecutive defeats, RR won its first win of the season against CSK in Guwahati.
“It took a long time, just two games, but really felt for a long time. We still think that we were 20. We lost a pair of wickets quickly (in middle overs). But we really bowled well. We have two difficult games, but chat was to forget those games, come with a new mentality and a good game is collectively.”
RR is set to face Punjab Kings (PBK) in Mulanpur on Saturday, 5 April on Saturday, 5 April.
