Sam curan England is expecting a return to the team and wants to use the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as a platform to facilitate the same. The Seam-Bauling all-rounder has re-joined the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the five-time IPL-winner franchise acquired its services in the mega auction for INR 2.40 crore last year.
Since with his international debut in 2018, Curan has played 24 Tests, 35 Odis and 58 T20I for England. He has won the Player of the Tournament Award at the 2022 T20 World Cup when the distance was traveled in England's global event. However, their last attendance for the national team came on a tour of Caribbean in November 2024.
Curan was ignored when England named their squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The European nation was excluded at the group's phase and Jose Butler abandoned the captaincy. With Brendon McCullum, with the beginning of this year, he took over as the coach of England in all formats and after the resignation of Butler, a new white-ball skipper was announced soon, curan hopes that there will be a lot of opportunities for the tombs. He knows that a strong term with Super Kings can help him impress McCullum and come back into controversy to remember a national team.

“My main objective is probably just to return to (England White-Ball). With England, I think I have not really found this right role. The Champions Trophy and the series in India (in the beginning of 2025), some hidden that they batting in terms of playing a lot of batsmen and I think I think I am still my role.
“I really feel in a good place. I used to humorously humming this, but I am still very young and feel that I am mature when I talk about handling bad luggage. I am mature. Being a little more experienced, better than reading the better situation, I really hope that I can come back to the team. I can really see where we are in the summer.”
