Sandeep Sharma sent Marcus Stoinis back to the pavilion, as PBK was reduced by 26/3 in 3.3 overs. When Prabasimran Singh was rejected by Kumar Karthikeya, PBK was 43/4 after 6.2 overs. RR had the upper hand in the match at that time.
However, Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell revived the home team's innings with an important 88 -run stand for the 5th wicket. Wadera contributed well to the partnership and scored 62 (41), including 4 fours and 3 sixes. Maxwell scored 30 (21), including 3 fours and one six. Due to his dismissal, PBKS reduced to 131/6 after 15.1 overs.
