Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has officially qualified for playoffs Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after a strong performance throughout the season. The franchise has won all its distance matches by displaying an all-round performance in every department.
Openers Virat Kohli, Phil Salet and Jacob Bethel continued to fly to the team, while middle-order batsmen Krunal Pandya, Tim David, Jitesh Sharma, and Romio Shepherd gave power-hitting in the overs of death. In the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazelwood led the speed attack and well supported by Yash Dayal and left -arm spinner Krunal Pandya.
The major concern is the potential unavailability of major foreign players for the upcoming fixtures. Australian Pesar Hazelwood may recall the remaining matches due to a shoulder swallowing and is included in the Australia's squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final which begins on June 11. The absence of right-arm pacer will be a major setback for RCB's bowling unit.
Similarly, Lungi NGD may also depart to represent South Africa in the WTC final. In the batting department, Jacob Bethel is expected to leave against the West Indies to join the England squad for his ODI and T20I series.
Although Phil salt will be available RCB Reach the finals, as it is only part of the England ODI squad for the series, which will begin on 6 June. Romeroo Shepherds can also leave the West Indies team even after being selected. These absence can leave RCB with limited foreign options and force them to rely too much on their Indian contingent.
RCB has signed Tim Safart and Ashirwad Mujarabani as temporary replacement and brought the injured Devdutt to Mayank Agarwal to replace the Dalit Padikkal. However, it remains to be seen whether this change will be sufficient to maintain its speed through the playoff stages. The RCB has played a match after a rear -scheduled schedule so far, washed out due to continuous rains with its first clash against E Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The franchise at Bangalore should find the correct mixture of players before the knockout stage. Then, they can struggle to find the rhythm and remember another chance to touch the iconic trophy.
