Police officials issued the e-challan under Section 183 of the Motor Vehicles Act after a speeding offense occurred near the wicketkeeper-batsman's residence in the Jharkhand capital.
The 44-year-old man was issued an automatic digital challan after his vehicle was caught speeding by the traffic monitoring system in Ranchi.
Dhoni For the second time in recent times, he has got into legal trouble. This happened after the Jharkhand State Housing Board sent a notice to the Bihar-born player for allegedly misusing a residential plot in Ranchi. According to the notice, Dhoni used a residential property for commercial purposes, which is against the jurisdiction. The plot in question is located on Harmu Road, which was his residence before moving to his present location.
Dhoni to return in CSK colors for 2026 IPL
Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings are all set to come together once again for the 2026 IPL season. The veteran campaigner will be competing in his 19th season in the showpiece tournament, having been a part of it since its inception. The five-time IPL-winning captain has already started his preparations for the big tournament, having started his first training session just a few days ago.
However, there are question marks over his availability for the Chennai team this season, with reports suggesting that Dhoni will not play in all 14 matches.
However, the Super Kings have already resolved their wicketkeeping concerns as they have traded Sanju Samson to Rajasthan Royals ahead of the upcoming season in exchange for star all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. Dhoni has had an incredible IPL career, captaining CSK to five titles, most recently in 2023, where they defeated Gujarat Titans in the final.
