Chasing a target of 163, Iyer came to bat during a difficult situation and while at the non-striker's end, the Mumbai-born player was hit on the wrist by the ball. He got the injury checked by the team physio but continued batting at the crease. After the match, Iyer has revealed the status of his injury but has also kept details about the injury, if any, under wraps.
“I will say this [the wrist] Is good. It is the same as it was before. Don't want to spoil it; Hopefully everything will be fine,” he said as quoted by India Today.
