KSCA confirms “safe, well-coordinated and professionally managed” conduct of IPL matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium


Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has informed that a meeting was held with the Expert Committee under the chairmanship of Dr. G. Parameshwara, Honorable Home Minister of Karnataka and representatives of KSCA, RCB and DNA Entertainment at Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru on the morning of Monday, 16th March.

During the meeting, the Expert Committee presented its report outlining the preparedness and compliance measures M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. Based on the recommendations of the Expert Committee and after reviewing the arrangements in detail, the Hon'ble Home Minister has formally given approval for hosting the upcoming IPL matches at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

KSCA expressed through its official spokesperson Vinay Mrutyunjay, “Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara for his leadership, guidance and support in facilitating this approval. KSCA also extends special appreciation to GM Maheswara Rao, Chairman of the Expert Committee, for his leadership and oversight in reviewing the preparations and infrastructure arrangements.”

“Our special thanks are extended to the Member Secretary of the Expert Committee and Bengaluru Police Commissioner Shrimant Kumar Singh for their proactive coordination and ensuring that all safety, security and operational aspects were comprehensively assessed,” KSCA said.

The Association expressed its heartfelt appreciation to all the distinguished members of the Expert Committee and the officers associated with the Expert Committee and its sub-committees, whose careful assessment and constructive recommendations have been instrumental in enabling this important decision.

The organization expressed its special gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah and Honorable Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar for their encouragement and support and for taking the matter to the State Cabinet first and facilitating the in-principle approval for conducting the matches at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The entire team of KSCA under the leadership of the great cricketer Venkatesh Prasadhas worked closely with the Hon'ble Home Minister, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, Expert Committee, Expert Sub-Committee, other Ministers, senior State Government officials and all statutory authorities to ensure full compliance of the recommendations of the Expert Committee. This coordinated effort has played a vital role in bringing cricket back to the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, as has the commitment shown by KSCA members and cricket fans.

Now that all hurdles have been removed, KSCA will look forward to extending full cooperation and support to the defending champions in conducting the upcoming IPL matches in a safe, well-coordinated and professionally managed manner, thereby ensuring a memorable experience for cricket fans and the sports community.
