During an exclusive conversation with CricTracker, Jitesh Sharma Named his all-time IPL XI. It was a big surprise when they did not include Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate and IPL leading run-getter Virat Kohli. IPL 2026 is all set to be Jitesh's second season with the 2025 champions. He was a part of Punjab Kings for three seasons before being bought by RCB for Rs 11 crore in the mega auction ahead of IPL 2025.
The wicketkeeper-batsman played a key role in RCB's title win in the 18th edition of the marquee tournament. Playing mostly as a finisher, he scored 261 runs in 11 innings at an impressive strike rate of 176.35 in a season in which Kohli top-scored for the Bengaluru franchise, and scored 657 runs to lead RCB to their first win in the cash-rich tournament.
The Amravati-born player chose the right-left pair of Rohit Sharma and Adam Gilchrist to open the batting. Rohit is the second-highest run-scorer in the IPL and a five-time winner as captain of Mumbai Indians. Gilchrist, on the other hand, played a vital role in the now defunct Deccan Chargers' path to victory. Indian T20I captain and always dynamic Suryakumar Yadav was selected as the No. 3 batsman.
Former South African duo of Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers He was selected as Jitesh's choice for important middle-order roles. Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni was placed between the fast bowling all-rounder and spin bowling all-rounder pair Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel respectively. Dhoni, who has won five titles as captain, was chosen as the leader of the team as expected.
Varun Chakravarthy, who has gone from strength to strength since landing at Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020, made it into the XI as the lone frontline spinner. Josh Hazlewood, his RCB teammate, was picked by the 32-year-old to complement the Mumbai Indians forward Jasprit Bumrah In the fast bowling department.
