Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra identified Ravi Bishnoi As one of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) players with significant chances in IPL 2026. Chopra said Bishnoi has not fully taken advantage of his opportunities for India and currently does not look to be in contention for a spot in the national T20I team.
RR bought Bishnoi for Rs 7.2 crore in the mini-auction. In 44 T20Is, he has taken 64 wickets at an economy rate of 7.40. Despite his performances, he missed out on selection for the T20 World Cup 2026 squad, although he did feature in two matches during India's five-match series against New Zealand.
Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “What a great opportunity for Ravi Bishnoi. You wasted your chance a bit. He took a lot of wickets. In fact, when he played, he was the leading wicket-taker, but now he is not a part of the Indian team. He is not a part of the conversation. This IPL season could change all that. So I see a big opportunity for him.”
Chopra said that Riyan Parag has a golden opportunity to repay the trust shown in RR. Parag was appointed captain after Sanju Samson was traded to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. He also led the franchise in some matches during Samson's absence due to injury in IPL 2025.
Chopra said, “Ryan Parag, this franchise has invested in you at such a young age and made you the captain. Of course, he captains Assam, but it is a big investment of faith. He was made the captain last year as a stopgap arrangement, which was fine, but don't judge him on that basis. So this opportunity is huge for Riyan Parag.”
Chopra said that Yashasvi Jaiswal has a chance to showcase his white-ball credentials in IPL 2026. He also pointed out that Dhruv Jurel has a chance to prove that RR were right in retaining him for a significant amount.
“Yashaswi Jaiswal, what an opportunity. He was part of the winning team in the T20 World Cup 2024, but after that he suddenly disappeared. IPL is the platform where you prove your potential and show people that you are still there. He is your legitimate three-format player, but is only getting a chance in one format at the moment. It is a big opportunity for him. Dhruv Jurel, they spent ₹14 crore on you because of your great potential. This is an opportunity to make it. A season of 400-450 runs, where he stamps his authority,” Chopra concluded.
