Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Krunal Pandya He believes the team is looking more settled this season, with players having more clarity about their roles, a change he attributes to the stability and confidence he has gained after their first IPL win in 2025.
The left-arm spinner also credited captain Rajat Patidar for creating a calm and well-structured environment within the team. Also, Pandya reiterated that making a comeback to the Indian national team is his top personal goal. Pandya played a key role in RCB's 2025 title-winning campaign, with a standout performance in the final, where he was named player of the match for his impressive figures of 2/17 in four overs.
“It's a very calm environment this year. Last year was all about new team dynamics and getting to know each other. Now a lot of players understand their roles and each other's strengths and weaknesses. Rajat has done an amazing job captaining a big franchise like RCB. The way he led the team last year was very special,” Pandya said in the RCB Podcast.
Pandya also shared his perspective on handling pressure in high-stakes moments, stressing on the importance of staying composed and trusting your skills. He underlined the importance of teamwork, particularly highlighting his on-field understanding with wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, whom he believes plays a vital role in executing plans effectively.
Pandya said, “When I go to big occasions, I feel that if God has taken you here then there is a reason behind it. Sometimes I feel that these moments are made for me only. I feel pressure but focus on staying calm and doing what is required.”
“A lot of the credit behind the wicket goes to Jitesh. I feel very safe and have complete trust in him because wherever I bowl, he will catch the ball,” he said.
Reflecting RCB's passionate fan base and legacy, Pandya chose the experienced Virat Kohli for his tireless drive and commitment. RCB have also made a strong start to their IPL 2026 campaign with a six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the season opener.
“Virat is an excellent example. You can see that hunger and passion in how he approaches the game and wants to win. Had he been born in another generation, he would still have been one of the great players. He is not competing with anyone else,” Pandya concluded.
