Apart from some of the biggest international names in T20 cricket, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is also famous for launching some homegrown gems and giving them a platform to showcase their talent in front of the entire cricket fraternity.

5. Kumar Kushagra – Gujarat Titans

Kumar Kushgra His performance so far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been disappointing. First picked up by Delhi Capitals in 2024 for a huge sum of money, the right-hander never found his feet before joining Gujarat Titans (GT) last year, where he did not play a game.
However, the 21-year-old has performed brilliantly in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and boosted his stock ahead of the showpiece tournament. Playing for the title-winning Jharkhand team, Kushagra scored 422 runs at an average of 60.28 and a strike-rate of 161.68. This included a score of 81 runs in just 38 balls in the final against Haryana, which helped his team win the trophy. The year 2026 could be the season where the young talent announces himself on the big stage.
