New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has been released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, making him one of the most notable names in the market. CSK parted ways with Devon Conway and Mathisha Pathirana as well as Ravindra while trading Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran for Sanju Samson.
The franchise had earlier invested heavily in the 26-year-old, signing him for Rs 1.8 crore in 2024 and retaining him for Rs 4 crore in 2025 via RTM card. Ravindra scored 191 runs in IPL 2025. Despite his release, Ravindra's skill set makes him a strong auction prospect. Teams that need a solid top-order batsman and a secondary spin option may show interest in keeping in mind the demand for young players.

3. Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals are expected to show keen interest in New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra in the IPL 2026 mini-auction as they look to strengthen their top-order. After a disappointing IPL 2025 campaign, where their powerplay batting remained a major weakness, DC released both Jake Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis. With Rs 21.80 crore in its purse and several overseas slots available, the franchise is looking for impressive top-order options.
Ravindra, released by CSK after scoring 222 runs in 2024 and 191 runs in 2025, offers left-arm spin options as well as aggressive left-handed batting. His ability to give solid starts makes him a strong contender to partner with KL Rahul at the top.
