Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match number 10 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This match is to be played on Sunday 5th April.
Ishan Kishan's team lost their first game against defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium as they failed to defend the target of 202 runs. However, they bounced back with an emphatic 65-run win against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens earlier this week.
While the bowling department does not look very threatening, especially in the absence of regular captain Pat Cummins, players like Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Malinga and Nitish Kumar Reddy have done well. Batting remains their strong suit, with Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan among the run-scorers after the first two matches.
Lucknow, on the other hand, has played only one match so far. They were defeated by Delhi Capitals at home. After being bowled out for 141, the Super Giants brought Delhi to the mat at 26/4. However, Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi's fifth wicket partnership gave their team victory with 17 balls to spare.
Lucknow has made changes to its top three in the batting order. It was surprising to see Aiden Markram give up his opening slot to captain Rishabh Pant. However, the move backfired as the wicketkeeper-batsman was run out in unfortunate circumstances. Nicholas Pooran, who had done brilliantly while batting at No. 3, was dropped to No. 5 and the move also did not help. While Lucknow's bowling department looks much better than last season, they will want their batsmen to step up. He should enjoy batting on the expected realistic wicket in Hyderabad.
