Delhi Capitals (DC) registered a comfortable six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match number 5. Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Wednesday, April 1 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
LSG were all out for 141 in 18.4 overs, with Abdul Samad top-scoring with 36 and Mitchell Marsh contributing 35 runs. For DC, Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan took three wickets each, while Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets.
In reply, DC chased the target in 17.1 overs, led by Sameer Rizvi's unbeaten 70 off 47 balls, which was well supported by Tristan Stubbs, who remained unbeaten on 39. Prince Yadav took two wickets for LSG, but the small target proved insufficient to defend.

1) Delhi Capitals bowlers quickly tightened their grip
Due to wickets falling at regular intervals, the batsmen of Lucknow Super Giants never got a chance to survive. For DC, T Natarajan performed brilliantly with figures of 3/29, dismissing Ayush Badoni, Mohammed Shami and Abdul Samad. Lungi Ngidi, meanwhile, bowled an important spell, dismissing the dangerous Nicholas Pooran with a clever slower ball that rattled his stumps. He also took the wickets of Anrich Nortje and Mohsin Khan to finish with impressive figures of 3/27.
2) LSG bowlers counterattacked strongly
After being bowled out for a modest score, LSG's bowlers responded with early successes. Mohammed Shami dismissed KL Rahul on the very first ball, while Mohsin Khan dismissed Nitish Rana soon after. During the powerplay, Prince Yadav further increased the momentum by taking two crucial wickets in an over, dismissing Pathum Nissanka and Akshar Patel and briefly swinging the contest back in favor of LSG.
3) Sameer Rizvi anchors the chase with a steady innings
After an early top-order collapse, Samir Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs held on to DC's chase. Both of them made an important partnership of 119 runs in 76 balls for the fifth wicket and effectively won the match. Rizvi remained unbeaten on 70 off 47 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes at an impressive strike rate of 148.94. Stubbs provided solid support with an unbeaten 39 off 32 balls, leading DC to a comfortable six-wicket win.
