Rajasthan Royals (RR) achieved a thrilling win against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match No. 9 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Saturday, April 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Batting first, RR scored an impressive 210/6 in 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant inning of 55 runs in 36 balls, while Dhruv Jurel played a brilliant inning of 75 runs in 42 balls. For GT, Kagiso Rabada was the best bowler, finishing with figures of 2/42 from his four overs.
In reply, GT fought hard but failed and could only score 204/8 in its 20 overs. Sai Sudarshan led the innings by playing a strong inning of 73 runs in 44 balls, but he lacked consistent support from the other end. Despite a late push from Rabada and Rashid Khan, GT could not cross the finish line. Ravi Bishnoi performed brilliantly with the ball for RR, taking 4 wickets for 41 runs in his four overs and playing a vital role in restricting the opposition team. RR eventually kept their nerve to register a six-run and thrilling win.

1) RR top order's great start
Rajasthan Royals chose to bat first and their top order gave a great start. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a quick partnership of 70 runs in just 38 balls for the opening wicket, which set the tone quickly. After a strong start, Jaiswal along with Dhruv Jurel added 56 runs in 37 balls for the second wicket and kept the momentum going. Jaiswal played a stormy innings of 55 runs in 36 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 152.78. Jurel ably supported him with an aggressive 75 off 42 balls, which included five fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 178.57.
2) Sudarshan gets into rhythm in Motera
Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudarshan found his rhythm after a disappointing performance in his opening game of IPL 2026. The left-handed batsman played a composed but aggressive innings, scoring 73 runs in 44 balls at an impressive strike rate of 165.91, which included nine fours and three sixes. He gave the hosts a strong start by making a crucial partnership of 78 runs in 48 balls for the first wicket with Kumar Kushagra and provided a solid base to chase the target.
3) Ravi Bishnoi turns the tables for RR
After the hosts looked in control at one point, leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi played a decisive role in shifting the momentum in Rajasthan Royals' favour. Bishnoi delivered the match-winning spell with impressive figures of 4/41 in his four overs. He made Gujarat Titans' target difficult by dismissing Glenn Phillips and Washington Sundar in the same over. Earlier, he dismissed a well-set Sai Sudarshan in his first over and later dismissed Rahul Tewatia in the closing stages, sealing the game for RR.
