However, despite their efforts, Delhi fell far behind and finished at 209/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Gujarat's bowling attack maintained its dominance in the death overs, with Rashid Khan bowling match-winners and taking three wickets at crucial junctures. Prasidh Krishna also played an important role by taking two wickets.
With this thrilling win, GT moved up to sixth position in the points table, while DC is currently at fourth position.

After his departure, captain Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar made an important century partnership for the third wicket. Both displayed exceptional timing and composure as they dismantled Gujarat's bowling attack during the powerplay. Nissanka played a stormy inning of 41 runs in 24 balls, while Rahul played a brilliant inning of 92 runs in 52 balls, hitting 11 fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 176.92. Their partnership laid a strong foundation for the chase and kept Delhi firmly in the contest.
Rashid's trap hampers DC's momentum
The game turned in Gujarat's favor thanks to Rashid Khan's match-winning spell. The experienced leg spinner worked his magic and took 3 wickets for 17 runs in his four overs. Rashid dealt a crucial blow by dismissing Nitish Rana and Sameer Rizvi in the same over, with the latter dismissing Axar Patel. His magic broke the backbone of Delhi's middle order and changed the momentum decisively.
GT wins in nerve-wracking finish
The match went into trouble with David Miller at the crease and 36 runs were needed from the last two overs. Miller made a strong counterattack and scored 23 runs in the last over and brought the equation to 13 runs in the last over. In a dramatic finish, Miller hit a six with two balls remaining, leaving only one run needed off the last ball. However, Prasidh Krishna maintained his composure and bowled a short ball which Miller failed to connect. Behind the stumps the fast bowler completed a quick effort to ensure a thrilling one-run win for GT.
