A promising mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi, a Delhi -based Delhi, made his debut for the Lucknow Super Veteran (LSG) against Delhi Capital in the match number 4 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 25 -year -old first caught the eyeball with his performance at the Delhi Premier League (DPL) last year.
Playing for his local team, he took 14 wickets in 10 matches at the economy rate of 7.82. His performance gave him a place in the Delhi squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024/25. In two unilateral matches against Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, Rathi took three wickets at an average of 6.33 and the economy at 2.71.
LSG's scouting team identified the capacity of Rathi, which acquired the INR 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction. In particular, his run-up resembles the West Indies Sunil Narin, as he hides the ball before delivery, making it difficult for the batsmen to choose their variations. His quick-hand action and the ability to bowl Gogali and Carrom balls make him a valuable property for LSG this season.
Rathi made his DPL and T20 debut under the leadership of Ayush Badoni, and now they are both playing together in the LSG lineup. Like Badoni's breakout performance in its debut season, LSG fans hope to follow the Rathi suit and have an impact in IPL 2025.
When he chose his first IPL wicket by rejecting the captain of Delhi Capital, Exer Patel, his first match became even more special. In the sixth over of DC's innings, Rathi bowled a googly, wooing Exer for a big shot. However, Southpow described the shot as wrong and gave Nicholas Gorn a simple catch in Square leg.
