Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) collided at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Saturday, 12 April.
PBKS openers started with a blast. Priyash Arya (36 runs 13) and Prabhasimran Singh (42 on 23 Rat) made a correct attack from the beginning. Powerplay gave him 89 runs for the loss of one wicket. The run rate was stable even after the openers left. Shreyas Iyer played an 82 -run captain's knock off 36 balls, while Nehal Wadhera scored 27 off 22 balls. All SRH bowlers scored over 10 runs with Shami (4-0-75–0) and registered the second worst figure in IPL history. Finally, PBK set a rigorous target of 246.
Well, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma probably did not feel that it was a harsh because they went on an all-out attack. Both scored 83 runs in Powerplay. While the head scored half a century (66 runs 37) Abhishek scored 141 runs in 55 balls (14 fours, 10 sixes). SRH reduced the target with eight wickets and nine balls in his hand.

1. Priyash Arya borne from where he left
PBKS opener Arya scored a hundred (103 runs) in the last match against CSK in the last match. He continued with his purple patch as he and Prabhasimran started the team fast. Arya showed his strokeplay as he hit Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami in the park.
His innings consisted of two fours and four sixes, he scored his runs at a strike rate of 276.92. One of his notable sixes came out of Cummins bowling when he pulled the Australian captain for a long time beyond the midwicket border region. His innings helped to speed up the side, which allowed Iyer to be used later.

2. Shreyas Iyer continues with his great look
The PBKS Skipper Champions Trophy has been in excellent form from 2025. In this match, it was time for him after the damage done by the opener to handle Mantle. He kept the run rate high from his end as he scored a brilliant 82 runs.
Iyer did not leave the SRH bowlers as he sent the ball several times on the boundary line. His innings consisted of six fours and six sixes. His partnership with Wadhera and Maxwell was important to score more than 200. Eventually, Iyer was out with the score reading 206/6 in the 18th over. He actually led to a captain's knock.

3. The head-eisheake shows back to the show Uppal
Eventually the day has come for SRH fans. Head-Abishek Run Fest was highly expected and the wait was over. The two had a platform set (246-Run target) to launch themselves. Both started in Bayana and Uppal saw fireworks for the next hour. SRH openers sent the ball flying in every nook and corner because the PBKS bowlers had no clue to do what to do. Abhishek got quick life when there was no ball from Yash Thakur and it proved fatal to PBKS.
Head scored half a century in 31 balls, while Abhishek was very fast, scoring it in 19 balls. The partnership contributed 171 runs on 75 balls on a large scale and made it very easy to the batsmen's work. It was a night when the two reminded other teams that they were back.

I think it was a great clan to be honest. Still laughing at me that he (SRH) left it with 2 overs. We could take some catch, but he (Abhishek) was lucky. He was extraordinary. In short we did not bowl on our expectations, we have to go to the drawing board and amend. The initial partnership (between Abhishek and Head) was unprecedented, he did not give us a lot of opportunities to capitalize on. Over rotation could have been better from our side. Ferguson can give you wickets, but he (injuries), it is a part of the game and a parcel. These are learning for us to move forward. However, other bowlers could do the same. Themselves and Wadhera thought that 230 was a good clan, but I think dew made it difficult for us (during the second innings). The way he (SRH Openers) batted, he was out of the world, this (knock of Abhishek) was one of the best knocks I have seen.

Wonderful. This is suitable for our style and we know that we are going to get. This is a good wicket and the ball pinges around here. More than 10 more than 10 you feel like a big win as a bowler. It is crazy that you feel the semicolon chasing that score. His (Abhishek) batting fans of batting. We did not want to change the recipe. The batting group played a lot last year and we are convinced about their abilities. They (fans) are amazing, always waving flags and great atmosphere.

It is not easy for any player to go through that form. Special mentions to the team and captain, the very simple message for the batsmen though I was not doing well. There was one thing with Travis and it was a special day for both of us. I never play anything behind the wicket, I was trying some shots because I wanted to invent some shots due to size and bounce on this wicket. The whole team is waiting for my parents. They are very lucky for the team and the Orange Army. We did not talk about anything, we just wanted to express and play the natural game. This is a very special and I was thinking that I wanted to break the losing line, it was very difficult as a player and as a young, but the mood in the team was very good.
