An internal spat is revealed Punjab kings Owners, as Preity Zinta, has filed a case against co-owner Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia. Zinta has accused the KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited – of illegally organizing an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) in the original firm of the popular Indian Premier League franchise.
Zinta, who is also a popular Bollywood actress, has claimed that the meeting was held by violating the provisions of the Indian Companies Act, 2013 and violating the secretary standards under the laws related to the related laws. Now, Chandigarh district court has issued a notice to Wadia and Burman with the prescribed preliminary hearing on 27 May, 2025.

Zinta, who himself is 23 percent of the share holders in the company and one of the company's co-directions with Wadia and Burman claimed that EGM was called and held in violation of the Companies Act, 2013 and Secretarial Standards. The Chandhih district court has issued a notice to the organization and co-directors to schedule on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
The 50 -year -old man is being represented by advocate Sangram Singh Saron and claimed that the meeting was illegally conducted by Burman, expressing through an email on 10 April. He has alleged that the meeting was held without following appropriate procedures, including the election of the chairman.
His decision to register a case has been explained through his petition in which he has claimed that he and fellow director Karan Paul objected to the appointment of Ness Wadia, which, citing the principle 5.1 of the secretary standards, the directors need to choose themselves as the chairman, if no one prematurely. Both Paul and Zinta suggested appointing any of them, resulting in a division vote between the four present directors.
However, despite the deadlock, Vadiya and Burman proceeded with the meeting and allegedly appointed Munesh Khanna as an additional non-executive director, which Zinta claimed that there was a violation of the articles of the company's association as well as governance criteria. She is also demanding a prohibition to stop Khanna from acting as a director and wants any meetings to be banned without her and Paul.
It is worth noting that Preity Zinta PBKS is 23 percent of the owners of franchise shareholders. More details in the case are currently waiting.
