who said what?
Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals (Lost captain)
It feels fine (his injury). I was not ready to come back and bat. It sounds fine now. We will see it tomorrow and see how it is. We really bowled well. There were stages when they became strict on us. I would like to give credit to my bowlers and fielders. Energy on the ground was fantastic. I felt that the score was made to bat, which we had. The beginning that we got in PP. I realized that it was definitely a chessable score. I think as we all saw some great bowling by Starci. He is one of the best people in the world. I would like to give it to Starcy. He won the game in the 20th over. The plan was to swing hard. I think (Sandeep) has been bowling the most difficult over for us over the years. Starcie took it away. Today a win could create some positivity in the dressing room.
Exer Patel, Delhi Capital (winning captain)
All is well that ends well. The way we started, the way the powerplay went. I felt that we could do a little faster. We were talking to the batsmen during ST. They told us that the wicket is not easy when you come in. I asked them to maintain the intention. But we gained momentum after 12 or 13th over. The ball was holding. This was not easy for the new batsman. The set batsman looked better. When the run flows, the panic button is set. I told myself and soldiers after a strategic time-out in the bowling innings that the real game now begins. Middle overs will not be easy. It will not be easy to hit fours and sixes. We have to do something with the deck because nothing will happen.
When the set batter goes out, it is not easy for new batsmen here. A couple of the wicket goes down and the panic button is buried under pressure. The ball was holding and was not coming on the bat. In this season, I made a cut during the Champions Trophy. You believe in winning the team. But as a captain, you think of contributing. You try to set the example. I came in and tried to create an effect. I thought what I can do and follow my process. I batted and bowled well today. I was wondering what Mitch could execute, we will be in it. He bowled about 12 yorker. So he is such an Australian legend. I think he missed only one ball as far as execution was concerned. The ground was replaced but he remained on it. It was important to lose that one game. Helps us
Mitchell Starc, Delhi Capital (match player)
(On the final over) Just supported my execution, running with a clear plan. Sometimes it stops, a little luck set a long way. It was a great game, happy to go to the right. I have played long to know for everyone what I will do, but if I execute then I know that I will get it. A little luck goes a long way. , (On the atmosphere of the team) a good mix of youth and experience. Exer is advancing us well. Kuldeep has been fantastic. Stabs and KL are very experienced. We are very fun, success as well as well.
