IPL 2025: Ambati Rayudu analyzed SRH problems after fourth consecutive loss

Ambati Rayudu highlighted the bowling of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), as he faced a fourth consecutive defeat Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, 6 April at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

After collecting some humble yogas during his run in the final last season, fans hoped that the 2016 Champions would post the first 300-plus total in the IPL this year. However, in addition to the first game against Rajasthan Royals, where he slammed 286/6, SRH is not able to touch the 200 -run mark.

However, Rayudu believes that it is not batting, but the bowling department which is actually dropping SRH in IPL 2025. Former India cricketer said that there are no bowlers in Hyderabad who can choose wickets through middle overs like R Sai Kisor, Rashid Khan and Principal Chris in Troika in Gujarat. Born in Andhra Pradesh, SRH bowlers are only trying to stop opposition batsmen from killing boundaries.

“I think more than his bowling, this is his batting that is struggling. In the middle overs, he has no one who can take those important wickets and put the opposition under pressure – such as how GT has done with Sai Kishore, Rashid [Khan] And Prasad Krishna. He actually tightened the screws, “Rayudu said through ESPNcricinfo.

He said, “I am not trying to take SRH wickets. They are just about being defensive and trying to stop the batsmen from scoring. You don't win IPL with average medium-over medium-over bowling.

Just spend some time on the basics: Rayudu

In the last season, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head played an important role as an opener for Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, in IPL 2025, while the head has seen in a decent touch, Abhishek cannot be said to have scored only 51 runs out of five innings. Rayudu suggested that the Punjab all -rounder should look at the boundaries with the ground and take a single to start its innings, and will bring big shots after being set on the crease. The cricketer-turnover-expert said that in technology and mentality, some twics will place SRH in good places.

“I think he only needs a change in his mindset. Just hit those some limitations with ground, next to the middle, [or] Mid-on; Run those singles; Get your 10–15 runs; [and] Get your blood flow. Then big shots will always come because you have trained for it. You are to kill them, and they will come. Just spend some time on the basics, “the cricketer-turn-commentator further said.

“I think SRH will now have to come on the basics. All his top three really like [good] Very length. So they are looking to clean the infield and hit the sixes they are practicing late. Their backlifts have changed. Abhishek Sharma's backlift has changed; Ishaan Kishan does this. They are raising the bat too much so that they have more hands, and they can go for those big shots, “Born in Guntur.

They need to smear a little and then flow: Rayudu

“So what the teams are doing now, they are really bowling completely for them. Still, these people are trying to hit the infield. I think they need to be a little smart and just hits the gap, because these are really half volcanoes that people are bowling for them. I think there is a slight change in their mentality. [is required]Saying this, “Okay, if it is full, we are usually taught to wait for the entire ball as a batsman.” So all this needs to be done: Wait for an entire ball, kill the gaps, and then let them come and bowl those lengths or short balls, and then you can get after bowling. They just need to get a little bit and then flow, “Rayudu concluded.
