Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper, Ajinkya RahaneAvoiding talking about the pitch during the post-match press conference, after his team's four-rose defeat, in the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the match 21, 8 April in Kolkata.
When asked about the status of the pitch, Rahane replied, 'Main kuchga toh bawal ho jayaga,' (If I say anything, it will be a big controversy). His statement immediately attracted similarities with the prestigious quotes of Portuguese football coach Jose Morinho, 'If I speak, I am in a big trouble.'
The dispute around the surface of the Eden Garden is from the beginning of the season, with concerns over the lack of support for the spinners. The issue created tension between KKR Skipper and Ground Curator, Sujan Mukherjee.
“There is enough conversation on the wicket here. The main Kuch will be baval from Bolunga (if I say anything, this will be a big controversy). Our curator has already received a lot of publicity and I think he is happy with that campaign. I will not say anything around the wicket and said the author concerned.

A week ago in his match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the right -handed batsman expressed satisfaction with the pitch position. However, the comments made after the LSG match have now doubted.
“I am really happy with the pitch. It will suit our spinners, at home, you should get what you want,” Raine said during the toss against SRH on Thursday, 3 April.
In a high scoring encounter, the LSG's top order took full advantage of the batting -friendly surface. Openers Aiden Marcram (47) and Mitchell Marsh (81) put up a solid 99-run partnership together. Nicholas Gadan captured at speed, broke an unbeaten 87, helping Lucknow help in a total of 238/3.
Leaded forward to Rahane KKR With a composed 61, and Rinku Singh's explosive 15-ball 38* gave the hosts a fight. However, they eventually decreased by only four runs.
