Prasad krishna This year, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is doing its best season as it is taking wickets for fun, maintaining a commendable economy rate. To keep things in perspective, Paer of Gujarat Titans (GT) has taken 19 wickets out of 10 matches. He has equaled his best tally for the IPL season. In IPL 2022, he took 19 wickets, but he came from 17 games.
On Friday, 2 May, Krishna scored just 19 runs in his four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 29-year-old took the important wickets of Travis Head and Henriric Klassen, as GT limited the SRH to 186/6 after the GT set a 225-ride target.
After winning the Player of the Match Award, Krishna said that he has controlled a good amount on the length he has bowled. He also talked about the support that he is receiving from his colleagues in GT and putting the preparations behind the screen.
“I think my control over the length has been good, and whatever work we are doing is in the form of a team and every person around is adequately supporting me that I have reached where I am now.
He said, “My preparation will start first what I want to do, go back to practice, go back to the nets, do in the same way that I will face someone that I will face in a particular game and then from there, go to the game day, see what the pitch is,” he said.
Krishna, who is currently organizing the IPL Purple Cap, has a strike rate of 15.37 on an average and 12.32 in IPL 2025. He is bowling at the economy rate of 7.49. The Karnataka Speedster said that when GT bowls the other, he creates a point to closely follow the first innings to develop his plans.
“If you are bowling another, make sure that you bowl each other out of 20 overs to someone else, do everything you can do with them. And I have many people who have played a tremendous amount of cricket around me. So do a chat with them, try and make sure that you hit the right areas and take it from there,” Prasad said.
