The current India T20I Captain and Mumbai Indians Stalwart not only directed new shot-making capabilities, but also showed how to be consistent in the IPL. The 34 -year -old was revealed to his development and hard work behind his performance.
The right-handed batsman told the franchise about his early days with the franchise, where he used to heat most of the bench, but since 2020, his career has given different shapes in both IPL and international cricket.
“T20 format has changed a lot in the last few years- to oversee rates, strike rates, everything. Earlier, I used to bat at a strike rate of 140-150, but after 22020, I realized that to be the best, I needed to return to drawing simulation, and shots would help in founding where I could help the scoring options. Geohotstar's special show, Suryakumar Yadav said on the experience.
The change was clear in IPL 2024, when he hit an unbeaten 102 off 51 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, one of his second IPL century and one of the most reputed knocks in a successful run-chase for MI. Innings with 12 fours and six sixes, brought Mumbai's campaign back on track.
Surya said, “Now whatever I do in the matches, I am already practicing – I try to repeat those sessions completely. Scoring the T20 century really felt special because it came with that effort and clarity,” said Surya.
On carrying the same form in IPL 2025, the experienced batsman currently seated third place of the top run-scorers list. He recently crossed 4000 IPL runs, which became the fastest Indian to reach out to achieve only 2714 balls. In the match against Lucknow super veterans in Wankhede, Suryakumar also hit 150 sixes in the league.
MI Batter has played a big role in helping his team hold third place on the points table after a dull start. The five -time champion will be seen in action against Rajasthan Royals on 01 May in Jaipur.
