jos buttler Is hopeful that England's T20 World Cup semi-final loss to India will not be the end of his international career, although he admitted there is no guarantee of selection for the upcoming white-ball series in July.
Buttler endured a difficult campaign in the World Cup, scoring only 87 runs in eight innings, and has scored only one half-century in his last four ICC tournaments. Although he still has 18 months left on his ECB central contract, he remains optimistic about his chances of being included when England host India for five T20Is and three ODIs during the domestic summer.
“I hope so. I don't know. “I couldn't have been further away from cricket, which was perfect for me at that time. It's exactly what I needed. Obviously the tournament personally didn't go the way I wanted it to, and I just felt like I needed some time away from cricket and not think about the game, and I couldn't have been further away from cricket where I was that week,” Buttler said.
“It was really refreshing – I really enjoyed it, a complete kind of release. And slowly but surely, I would say at the beginning of this week, [I am] Just starting to reflect a bit and have some thoughts about what's important to me and my cricket, and why it probably didn't go the way I wanted it to. there are elements [to what went wrong] Actually I don't really know exactly.
