Another promising discovery for this season is Vignesh Puthur of Kerala, a left-handed wrist-spinner, who took three wickets in a debut to demonstrate his skills against Chennai Super Kings. Despite the team losing the match, their performance stood out and earned praise from experts. Puthur was first seen by former India's Pesar Ta Sekar. Despite not playing domestic cricket for Kerala, his talent was seen in testing, giving him an IPL contract for IPL 30 million. The scouting process of MI begins with intensive evaluation of young and upcoming players in various domestic tournaments, including Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy. Former cricketers and talent scouts such as Kiran More, Abe Kuruvilla, Ta Sekar, Parthiv Patel and John Right have been part of the process.
