Punjab King's middle-order batsman Shashank Singh The incorrect identity incident was opened during the IPL auction. While the franchise later released an explanation, the loss was caused. Shashank revealed that when he considered it to be the best opportunity for his career, the situation was also deeply hurt and took a toll on it. Auction drama (wrong identity confusion) How does you mentally affect you? Did this inspire you to prove yourself even more?
To be very honest, till now I always said that it does not affect me much. Because obviously, I did not know anything about it. I used to say that I wanted to play cricket. But obviously, you are asking me now, and I am telling you the truth, yes, it impressed me. I mean, in India, social media fans are very crazy and emotional about sports. So these are things that are going to happen.
I still remember that when the auction was done, people were asking me, 'Do you really play cricket?' I don't know how my number went viral, but I am asked to ask 'Do you play cricket, or you play for time pass?'
Was it sad? I would not say that it was not hurt. But then, I always believed that I was best. I knew that I am entitled to this place. I have performed here, and I can give it to the game of cricket. Therefore, I believed him. But yes, it was sad.
I still remember that there were a lot of trolling on Instagram and social media, and again, after my first IPL match in Punjab, I think I came out at zero against Delhi's capitals. So, there were many memes. My sister used to tell me not to open Instagram. But then, I am a human being. I look at these things. Sometimes these things affect me. I used to feel bad.
But then, I was mentally very difficult. I believed. I know that I have the ability to perform at the highest level. So why shouldn't I do this? So it was sad. But then, if something happened when I was 18 or 19 years old, I would have been very rare. But I think when this happened, I was a mature person. And I think I came back very strongly.
