Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer At present, there are two best captains in Indian cricket. Both have an impressive captaincy records in white-ball cricket.
30 -year -old Shreyas led the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise for the first time in April 2018. He was the mid-way through the 11th season in place of Delhi's capitals (then known as Delhi Daredevils) in place of Gautam Gambhir. The franchise ended at the leg of the table. However, Shreyas showed his captaincy in the next season, taking Capital to the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Under his leadership, the franchise first made the finals to the finals in 2020, where he lost to Indians in Mumbai.
However, Shreyas's biggest achievement came last year as a captain in the IPL when he inspired Kolkata Knight Riders to title. He was released by the franchise before the IPL 2025 mega auction, and joined the Punjab Kings (PBK) for 26.75 crores.
Mumbai Batter has led PBK from the front in IPL 2025. Under his reign, PBK has scored 16 out of 12 matches, with seven wins and three defeats in his kitty. A victory in the abandoned struggle against Delhi's capitals in Dharmasala would have made Punjab the first team to qualify for playoffs in IPL 2025.
During this time, Hardik Pandya After being planted by Gujarat Titans (GT), he started captaincy in the IPL in 2022. He inspired the team for the title in his first season in -charge. This was also a remarkable achievement as Titans were only playing their first IPL season.
In the next season, Hardik once again led and took the team to the finals. He lost the Shikhar Clash against Chennai Super Kings with the previous ball. Baroda all-rounder could be the first captain to win the IPL title in Helm in his first two sessions.
Hardik moved to Mumbai Indians (MI) before IPL 2024 and converted Rohit Sharma into a five -time champion captain. The move got with immense criticism as Rohit's fans felt that Nagpur was not given enough respect for his contribution to the franchise. The hearts of the hard fans could not win back as the MI finished final on the table's table. He won only four of the 14 sports and 10 defeats.
However, MI believed in Chori -born and distributed in IPL 2025. After a worrying start, four out of the first five matches have gone to number 4 in the points table with 14 points at Mi Bank. MI has won seven matches and has lost five in the tournament so far. The remaining sports are against PBK and Delhi Capital.
How is Shreyas and Hardik performed?
Shreyas has scored 405 runs out of 12 matches at an impressive average of 50.63 and a commendable strike rate of 180.81. He has recorded four half -centuries, including the highest score of 97* against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad in the first game of PBKS season.

Both Shrey and Hardik have performed brilliantly to their respective parties. This season is difficult to choose one of them as a better leader in this season. However, Hardik has taken a more experienced side at his disposal, especially with the choice of Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah in his lineup.
