The Lucknow Super Veteran (LSG) spoiled the Gujarat Titans (GT) party to some extent as his 33 -run win on Thursday, 22 May, making the possibility of ending Shubman Gill -led side in the top two.
Shubman Gill won the toss and opted for the first ground on a bail of a track at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh once again gave LSG a great start, scoring 91 runs inside the first 10 overs.
After Markram was dismissed for 24-gends 36, it was a partnership between Marsh and Nicholas Gran that stole the show. Lucknow collected 235/2 behind Marsh's 64-Ball 117 and 56 unbeaten 56 in 27 delivery.
In response, the middle-order of Gujarat was tested, which could not capitalize on its debut in a rare ocean after Shubman, Sai Reformson and Jose Butler's in-form trio. Sherfen Rutherford and Shah Rukh Khan hung all around, but in the end there were lots of runs to struggle with them. The Titans were limited to 202/9 in their 20 overs.

2. Shahrukh Khan, Sherfen Rutherford showed GT's mid-order capabilities
Shah Rukh Khan and Sherfen Rutherford did not have many opportunities to show this season as the GT was on the top-order song. However, on Thursday, they got their chance and both showed that they were able to produce goods. Rutherford scored 38 runs, while Shah Rukh scored 57 runs in 29 delivery. His 86-run partnership off 40 balls gave GT hopes of miraculous victory, however, despite his efforts, the 235-Run target proved to be very high in the end.

3. William O'Rurke makes the difference with the ball
New Zealand's Pacer William O'Rurke did a tremendous outing with the ball. With not getting much help available for the bowlers, O'Rurke used his changes for a great impact and made life difficult for power hits. He took the wickets of reformson, Rutherford and Rahul Tawatia, scoring just 27 runs in their four overs.
